I realized that the reason I end up slacking off on my blogposts and other writing projects is that I get so hung up on chronology. I feel like they must be written according to the order in which they happened. Instead of writing in the moment, I tend to “save” the stories until I’ve completed the previous ones. Naturally, my stories pile up, I get overwhelmed, and then I abandon the whole lot.
This year, I’ve decided to write more regularly… about things that may have happened years ago, or just yesterday… or even how I feel about tomorrow. I’m applying the golden rule of being a creative soul and setting myself free!
When I first started blogging, I used to constantly check how many people have read my posts. It's as though I needed validation by the number of clicks I'd get. After getting very minimal numbers, I almost gave up. "What's the point," I thought, "when no one cares to read what I write?" Then someone reached out and told me, "You inspired me to create my own blog and tell my own stories!" That's when things turned around for me. Why? It's because my purpose for doing this is to share my stories. The fact that I was able to inspire even just one person, (ONE person!), then I have successfully achieved my goal.
I hope you enjoy following my adventures. I'm not here to impress anyone. I simply want to share all that I see and experience through my words, photos, and videos.
